This recipe is perfect for the holidays or any time of year you are craving sweet, tangy, spicy. It makes a great chutney or spread for bread or toast. Cranberries are famous for their support of a healthy urinary tract, but, like most berries they're also high in antioxidants making them great for anti-ama (waste accumulation), anti-aging, cancer prevention and heart health.
Ingredients:

1 cup cranberries (fresh when possible, if not, soak frozen in hot water and strain once melted)

1 cup chopped pitted dates (best to soak them over night in 1 cup water and retain water to use in this recipe)

1/2 cup strawberry chunks, or blueberries or raspberries

¼ c jaggery as needed per taste – this should be sweet and tangy to your liking

1 cup water (unless you soaked dates, then use the water you used there)

3 cloves
-
1 star anise (whole if you have it) – this is as much for decoration as it is for flavor and digestion enhancement

3 pinches cardamom

3 pinches nutmeg
-
1-2 thread saffron
-
2 Tbs fresh chopped ginger
Directions:

Bring all ingredients to a boil

Cover
-
Simmer 10-15 minutes until cranberries as mushed and it has thickened

Optional: You can mush with potato masher until desired consistency – chunky can be funnnn

Stir occasionally

Adjust taste as needed

To make it a little more savory: you can add in ½ tsp toasted & crushed cumin seeds and 1/8 tsp crushed black pepper

To keep it sweeter: Garnish with squeeze of orange juice and stir to incorporate, and add more sweetener as you go along
