Basic Ayurveda Grain Recipe

Basic Grain
Ingredients:
- 1 cup rice (ie white rice)
- ½ cup other grain (ie, quinoa)
- 3 cups water
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp cumin powder
- 1 Tbs ghee
Directions:
- Soak grains overnight in enough water to cover by few inches
- Drain in the morning
- Place all ingredients into saucepan and cover on high
- Bring to a boil
- Stir & cover
- Reduce to simmer (time varies according to grain – cook as long as the grain that requires the most time needs, ie, white basmati rice = 20 minutes, brown rice = 45 minutes)
